
StreamingQuickTime allows instant-on streaming.Navigate to the > Browser tab and check or uncheck the respective box.
Browser PlaybackIn > QuickTime Preferences you can also choose whether or not to automatically playback movies embedded in websites. If you allow automatic updates, QuickTime will regularly "phone home". Automatic UpdatesUnder > QuickTime Preferences to go the > Updates tab and check or uncheck the box for > Check for updates automatically, depending on what your preference is. Finally, open your QuickTime program folder and remove the > qttask.exe. Within that key delete the > QuickTime Task value and close the Registry Editor. Within the registry, go to > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. This will require you to edit the registry, so proceed at your own risk only! Click > Start > Run, type > regedit and hit > Enter. Remove qttask.exeIf you removed the QuickTime system tray icon, you can also disable the qttask.exe, which briefly launches at every startup.
At the bottom, remove the checkmark for > Install QuickTime icon in system tray. Open the QuickTime Player, then go to > Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences.
